Amir Vahedi was born on 1961 in Teheran, Iran and worked for Iran army until at his mother’s request he left it and arrived in Los Angeles as a war refugee. Then he kept owning several businesses in LA and finally becoming a professional poker player. Amir is one of the most talented tournament players in poker which makes his opponent scared and his unpredictable style of playing pokers makes him un-readable by opponents. He also tutored poker to celebrity Ben Affleck especially the No-Limit Hold’em. Ben Affleck had star Jennifer Lopez has his girl friend in those times.
Amir was named he No-Limit Texas Hold’em Player of the Year in 2001 after a lot of final table appearances in the tournaments. In that year he ended 2nd in 1st Annual World Poker Challenge, 1st in America’s Poker Classic, 2001 and Jack Binion World Poker Open 4th Year - WPT Season 1, 2003. He won the Legends of Poker WPT Season 2 - Limit Hold’em in January 3, 2004 making it his new year gift. Also this player who is single, started playing poker in 1997 has total winnings of $3,123,094. He also is popular because of claiming himself as the best tournament player.
