David Chiu was born in 1960 in China. He is a Chinese-American professional poker player. Prior to becoming a poker professional he was a restaurant owner and was a poker dealer.
David Chiu won 1996 World Series of Poker event earning $396,000. After this win he concentrated more on poker. He won four World Series of Poker bracelets and is a winner of 2008 World Poker Tour championship taking home $3,389,140 as prize money. David Chiu regularly plays World Poker Tour events and had made final table twice.
In 2003 David finished in 3rd place at World Poker Tour Invitational event. David Chiu has great ability to read others. He plays the game with concentration as he was partially deaf, in both the ears, due to a swimming accident. He says that this disability helps him to win the game. He has this credit of being the world’s best limit hold’em players. As of today David Chiu’s total tournament winnings exceed $5,800,000.
