Xao ‘Jerry’ Yang was born in 1968 at Laos. He and his family came to United States in 1976. He had done his Masters in Health Psychology from Loma Linda University, South California.He worked as a therapist and social worker in Southern California. He started playing poker from 2005.
He won the 2007 World Series of Poker main event championship and grabbed $8,250,000. He came to this event through online poker rooms and his investment for this event was $225. After this great win, he left his job and would like to become professional poker player.
He is a person with kind heart and would like to help charities. He mentioned that 10% of his earning will be donated to three different charities, ‘Make-A-Wish Foundation’, ‘Feed the Children’, and ‘Ronald McDonald House’.As a result of this win, Jerry Yang currently ranked as11th player in the all time money list for live tournaments.
