Joseph N. Bartholdi was born in 1980 in South California. His father was a poker dealer. Joe moved to Las Vegas along with his father when he was 18 years old. He started playing poker and became professional at the age of 21. In 2003 Joe won the Grand Slam of Poker championship.
Joseph stood in 3rd place in the Five- Star World Poker Classic World Poker Tour championship. In 2005 World Poker Tournament Joseph finished in 5th place and took home $71,445. In the same year he won the Ultimate Poker Challenge championship gaining $27,160.
In 2006 Joseph won his highest cash prize by winning Five- Star World Poker Classic World Poker Tour championship. In this tournament he took home $3,760,165 as first prize money. Joseph made 15 cashes and 3 final finishes. Due to bad money management Joseph could not save enough money of the cash wins. His total tournament earnings till date are over $4,068,788.
