Johnny Chan was born in 1957 in China. He was a student of University of Houston. Johnny was dropped out of the school at the age of 21. He came to United States in 1968 to become a professional poker player. Johnny Chan won 1987 World Series of Poker championship and earned $625,000.
In 1988 he won his second World Series of Poker championship which made him gain $700,000.In 1989 Johnny just missed his third consecutive World Series Championship coming second.
Johnny has a unique practice while playing the game. He places an orange in front of him which attracted many other players to follow thinking it was lucky to have one. In 2005 Johnny was had a record of being the first player to win 10 World Series of Poker titles. Johnny was even inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame in 2002.Johnny Chan even launched an online poker room at his Chanpoker.com domain in 2007.
