Miami John Cernuto was born in 1944 in Jersey City, N.J. He graduated from Florida State University where his specialization was finance, He began his career as a traffic controller, a job that he wanted to do till his retirement, During 1981 Union strike when President Ronald Reagan fired traffic controllers even Miami lost his job and moved to Las Vegas to make a career as a Professional Poker Player.
He first appeared in the Final of the World Series of Poker (WOSP) in 1989 World Series of Poker, which included players like David Sklansky, Humberto Brenes, and Gabe Kaplan. He won first bracelet in 1996 WSOP in a seven-card stud split tournament where he won $1500. This was the beginning and after this, he won World Heads-Up Poker Championship in Vienna. His total winnings as of today are $ 3,633,323. His favourite Poker game is Omaha 8 or Better. One thing that he wants to eliminate from the world is prejudice.
