T.J. Cloutier was born in 1939 at Texas. He was a football and baseball athletic which made him study in University of California with a scholarship. He started playing poker in 1956 while he is in Army. He is the only person in the history of the World Series of Poker who won events in all the three types of Omaha (Pot Limit Height, Limit High and Limit 8 - or better High - low split)
His first grand win was in 1987 where he stood first in 18th Annual World Series of Poker and took home $72,000. In 1990 he won Super bowl of Poker and in the same year he won Jim Brady Tournament. In 1992, he won Hall of Fame Poker Classic and Jim Brady Tournament. In 2005, he won 36th Annual World Series of Poker and earned $ 657,100.
In 2007, he won $240,560 by winning Scotty Nquyen Poker Challenge. He is second in the final finishes record with 39 where as Phil Hellmuth in first place with 40.Other than Poker he loves to play golf and travelling. As of now T.J. Cloutier had 60 major tournament wins in his pocket, world-wide.
